Colored Triptych Woodcut
Here is a unique piece of art that depicts the first Sino-Japanese War. The original piece was created by Mizuno Toshikata in 1894. The image shows a battle which took place in the Chinchon region between five Japanese soldiers and approximately one hundred Chinese soldiers, which was eventually won by the Japanese.
This triptych, which is in very good condition, is frequently framed as three separate panels, but this piece has all three panels joined into one. The black and gold wooden frame measures thirty-six inches wide by twenty-two inches. It was beautifully framed and matted at Closson’s Art Gallery.
This intriguing historic depiction would be a great addition to any home or office.
