CET is ME

CET is me

Thursday, October 7, 2021 - Monday, October 11, 2021

There comes a time in the history of an organization when looking back propels you forward. When you realize that the impact you have had in popular culture and even right here in our own hometown is profound and prolific. It’s that kind of reflection that helped us realize it was time to celebrate the stories of our community – your stories, our stories, the stories of Cincinnati and of CET.

Introducing CET is ME

Join us as we celebrate the many unique and original aspects and qualities of CET and PBS with an outdoor experience that utilizes our building as the canvas. Our outdoor 'drive-in gala’ will amplify the idea of CET is ME by animating the exterior with light, color and projection, connecting to the community, the neighborhood and CET like never before.

When you order timed tickets to this exclusive event, you’ll join us for a unique Singing the Queen City light-and-color project event with a custom, app-driven audio track and a choreographed queue. This is a first-of-its-kind experience for our community and your local PBS station.

Honoring:

Dr. O’dell Moreno Owens, MD, MPH
President and Chief Executive Officer of Interact for Health

Dr. O'dell Moreno Owens, MD, MPH

The 2021 CET is ME honoree will be Dr. O'dell Owens. As a native Cincinnatian, Dr. Owens holds both an MD and a Master's of Public Health from Yale University Medical School. After returning home in 1982, Dr. Owens established an in-vitro fertilization program at UC's Medical Center. In recent years, he has served as the Hamilton County Coroner, Cincinnati State Technical and Community College President, and Medical Director for the Cincinnati Health Department. Dr. Owens recently retired from Interact for Health, where he served as President and CEO. He has dedicated his life to ensuring every child matters. As the honoree, a mural is being created in his honor. Contact us to sponsor this mural.

Brave Berlin

Looking to completely transform LIVE! on CET, Brave Berlin, the creators of Lumenocity and BLINK were invited to help us 'sing' our own song. This partnership was made possible by a generous donation from The Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile Foundation.

With their help, we will offer an experience that will tell our story, past, present and future. The experience will be highlighted by a 'performance' by some of our closest supporters.

The Singing Mural

This mural is a fantastic ode to the Queen City's rich arts and cultural legacy. Designed by nationally renowned artist and Cincinnati resident, C.F. Payne, this cast of characters represents the community coming together in celebration of the arts.

What song will they be singing? A selection that will be meaningful to our honoree — Dr. O'dell Owens! Depending on your sponsorship level, sponsor up to four mural characters that are meaningful to you.
