“Tea And Apples”

Item Category:

Local artist, Mary Mark’s unique and award winning style has made her work popular throughout the U.S. and abroad.  Her work is sometimes referred to as Matisse-like because of her vivid palette and somewhat funky perspective.  Surfaces are layered on top of one another, juxtaposing pattern on pattern for a high energy busy effect.  “Tea and Apples” depicts a cozy setting ready for a cup tea. Using a multiple color reduction process, this linocut by Mary Mark also has elements of the image that continue from the print onto the frame.  The outside dimensions are 38 inches x 30.5 inches including the 3 inch hand painted wood frame.  As with many of Mary Mark’s pastels, this piece is a profusion of life’s accouterments and fabrics, its frenzied assortment of brilliant colors compose an image that speaks of tranquility and reflection.

This piece would put the finishing touch on any room.
