You can picture autumn in all it's glory with the dried grass in the foreground and the leafless trees against a gray sky in the background.  This covey of five Bobwhite Quail has been flushed from their nest and are flying out of their grassy habitat to places unknown.  Titled "Bobwhite Quail", the 24" by 20" offset lithograph print on paper is Plate V of the Americana series printed in 1976, is double signed by the artist and numbered 340/1000.  In his usual fashion, internationally known local artist John A. Ruthven has captured the essence of autumn and birds in flight in a realistic fashion.  Also included is a vellum type paper print in sepia tones which has some damage to it after having been stored for more than 40 years.
